TOTO’s Washlet is the #1 selling electronic bidet seat on the market. TOTO has sold over 50 million Washlet units worldwide. Anyone can use a bidet. They promote good hygiene and they are comfortable and easy to use. Oftentimes, they are used by the following groups of individuals: People with disabilities or mobility issues, seniors, people recovering from surgical procedures, and anyone that enjoys using a bidet.
Washlet’s are commonly found in the following facilities:
- Healthcare Buildings
- Senior Living Facilities
- Hospitals
- Hospice Care Centers
- Physical & Occupational Therapy
- Birthing Centers
- And in individual’s homes.
All-Inclusive Restroom Design
Facilities that experience a high volume of elderly or disabled persons should design restrooms that go above and beyond the requirements set forth by the American Disabilities Act. In fact, toileting is the #1 reason people concede their independence and go to care facilities. This means that in order to better serve these populations in public facilities, items like Washlets should be installed to help people with disabilities use the facility. Buildings that design restrooms with the recognition that people with disabilities are included are commended for their inclusivity, and appreciated by all, not only those with disabilities that need it.

TOTO WASHLET FAQs:
Q: What is included in my Washlet purchase?
A: Included with your unit are the following items:
- Washlet
- Remote
- Mounting bracket
- Tee connector
Q: Are Washlets easy to install?
A: Yes. Installing a Washlet is just like replacing your toilet seat.
- Simply remove the existing seat.
- Install the base plate using the same holes the toilet seat was installed on.
- Slide the Washlet in place
- Connect to the water supply.
Q: Who are Washlets appropriate for?
A: People with stroke and brain injuries, amputations and disabilities, pre and postpartum care, back and spinal cord injuries, people who suffer from frequent UTI and hemorrhoids, geriatric care and home health, arthritis, alzheimer, ALS, MS, and cancer patients, incontinence and perineal care.
Q: How do I install a Washlet on a commercial toilet?
A: Washlets can be installed on a bowl with a top spud or rear outlet option. Two different adapters need to be installed to be used with a floor mounted bowl:
- Option 1: TCH314FV – This enables installation in the center of the tailpiece. A hole would be drilled and installed.
- Option 2: THU468 – This option would be used with a separate waterline installed.
Q: Do Washlets require a power outlet?
A: Yes. There must be a power outlet available near the toilet. It used the standard AC 120V, 60Hz. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a three wire extension cord that has a three blade grounding plug, and a three-slot receptacle outlet that will accept the plug on the product.
Q: How do I clean my washlet?
A: Washlets have a self-cleaning wand so cleaning should only need to occur roughly once a month or so, depending on usage. The following cleaning items are approved for use: detergents or non-abrasive surface cleaners, a wet cloth to clean on and around plastic parts, and for hard water, a vinegar or lime dissolving cleaning and a non-scratch scour pad made for porcelain.
What NOT to use: Cleansers, polishing powders, or detergents that include gritty or coarse particles that could scratch surfaces, a dry cloth or toilet paper on plastic parts, and abrasive nylon scrubbing brushes are all items that should NOT be used to clean Washlet components.
Q: How do I clean the wand?
A: Press the wand cleaning ON/OFF button on the back of the remote. The wand will extend and water sprays out for cleaning. The wand then automatically retracts after 5 minutes. Wipe the wand with a soft, wet cloth. Do not pull, push, or press the wand with excessive force.
